Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On May 20, 2006, the Chinese Government and the Government of Moldova signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA), which committed RMB 10 million of grant funding for the provision of 400 medical devices to 73 republican, municipal, district, departmental and medical institutions from the eastern districts of Moldova. The equipment was specifically designed for resuscitation and intensive care units. It was successfully delivered by a Chinese contractor [China International Tendering Company (CITC)] on November 13, 2009.

Staff comments

The Romanian project title is Echipament 73 de instituţii medicale republicane, municipale, raionale, departamentale, precum şi instituţiile medicale din raioanele de est ale republicii. One Government of Moldova sources suggest that this project was funded through a November 14, 2007 ETCA rather than a May 20, 2006 ETCA. This issue merits further investigation.
