Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On December 17, 2009, Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the Chinese Ambassador to Moldova, Shi Longzhuang, signed an economic and technical cooperation agreement (ETCA), which committed RMB 20 million of grant funding to promote wine exports and other Moldovan exports to China. The proceeds of the grant were to be used by the Government of Moldova to pay for its participation in the 2010 Shanghai World Exhibition (‘Expo 2010 Shanghai China’) and promote the export of Moldovan wines to China. The Government of Moldova did send a delegation to the Expo 2010 Shanghai China. However, it is unclear if it used the grant proceeds from the ETCA to fund the government’s participation.
