Project narrative

On March 23, 2011, the governments of China and Zimbabwe signed a grant agreement for the provision of $7.5 million USD to the Zimbabwean Government for various purposes. The projects funded by this grant are unclear. At the meeting on this day, China and Zimbabwe signed a total of 9 economic, technical co-operation, and loan deals worth $700 million. Included in these agreements was $566 million for agricultural equipment, medical equipment and supplies, and rehabilitation of water and sewage treatment plants (see linked Record ID#63444).
