Project narrative

In June 2006, Suan Dusit Rajabhat University at Suphanburi and the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) signed a letter of intent jointly establish a Confucious Institute in Suphanburi. Then, on December 27, 2006, through the joint effort of China Guangxi University and Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, the Suphanburi Confucius Institute was formally opened to the public. Suan Dusit Rajabhat University is the top comprehensive university in Thailand and has 22 affiliated schools and more than 40,000 students. Supanburi is located northwest of Bangkok. Both the local government and residents highly value Chinese language education and Chinese culture promotion. The Suan Dusit Rajabhat University has already decided that they will include the Suphaburi school in the 'Chinese culture and education city' in Thailand.
