Description

On March 1, 2006, the Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University was founded. With the authorization of the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), Guangxi Normal University and Ritsumeikan University cooperated to establish the Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University. It was officially inaugurated on December 29, 2006. Founded in 1965, the Prince of Songkla University is the most famous university in the southern part of Thailand. It is one of the most important universities in Thailand and cultivates talents in all fields for Thailand and particularly southern Thailand. Prince of Songkla University is in the city of Hatyal in Songkhla Province. Hatyal is the third-largest city in Thailand, and also the center of commerce, transportation, and tourism in southern Thailand. In the Hatyal area, Chinese education and language learning are on the rise. The Confucius Institute at Prince of Songkla University is the first institute in the area that specializes in Chinese language education.
