Hanban provides a grant for the establishment of the Confucius Institute at East Central Ohio Educational Service Center

Project narrative

On March 2, 2012, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center (ECOESC) signed an agreement to establish the Confucius Institute at East Central Ohio Educational Service Center. As part of the agreement, Hanban is obligated to provide teaching materials, an annual fund, and numbers of Chinese instructors. The funds are dispersed through a local Bank of China account or other approved bank account created by the institute. The agreement has a 5-year validity and automatically renews at the end of every 5-year term. The College Board will monitor the progress of the Confucius Institute. In April 2019, ECOESC signed an agreement with Hanban and Chongqing Education Commission (重庆教育委员会) to develop the Confucius Institute and its Confucius Classrooms. In December 2023, a Confucius Institute at East Central Ohio Educational Service Center delegation held discussions on the Confucius Institute with Sichuam International Studies University (四川外国语大学).
