Project narrative

In 2008, the Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) and Opole University of Technology signed an agreement to establish the Confucius Institute in Opole. As part of the agreement, Hanban was obligated to provide teaching materials, an annual fund, and numbers of Chinese instructors. The funds would be dispersed through a local Bank of China account or other approved bank account created by the institute. The agreement had a 5-year validity and would automatically renew at the end of every 5-year term. Beijing University of Technology was the Chinese cooperating partner of the university. The Confucius Institute began operations on October 8, 2008.
