Project narrative

On December 23, 2014, the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone Zhao Yanbo donated 20 motorbikes to Sierra Leonean government to supporting its efforts to combat Ebola. Samura Kamara, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abubakarr Fofanah, Minister of Health and Sanitation, and Yin Chengwu, Political Counsellor of the Chinese embassy, Zou Xiaoming, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy attended the hand-over ceremony. These motorbikes were bought locally for the "Operation Western Area Surge" launched by the Sierra Leonean government and will be used for case detection, epidemic tracking and monitoring.
