Project narrative

On May 9, 2015, the Chinese Government sent the fifth China (Hunan) Medical Team organized by the Health and Family Planning Commission of Hunan Province, led by the Xiangya Hospital of Central South University of China to Sierra Leone to assist with the Ebola epidemic. The team included 40 medical staff and technicians from Xiangya Hospital, Hunan Provincial People's Hospital, The First Hospital of Changsha, Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention. The team also included staff from 302 Military Hospital of China. The team treated 39 patients and cured 3 Ebola patients. On July 23, 2015, the mission was finished and the team returned home.
