Description

On Jan 28, 2014, the signing and launching ceremony of the South-South Cooperation Project on Employment Promotion Services (or 促进就业服务南南合作项目) was held in Vientiane. The project was from Jan 1, 2014 to December 2016 and the total grant is $1 million for two beneficiary countries, Laos and Cambodia. In Feb. 2014, as part of the South-South Cooperation on Employment Service Project China signed an agreement to grant 500,000 USD to Laos. The Project is designed to improve labor market efficiency and participation, reduce unemployment, and enhance linkages and information flows between job seekers and employers, which will in turn contribute to the reduction of poverty in Laos. As of May 25, 2015 China has disbursed USD 392,578. The project was completed by December 2016. The remaining 500,000 USD provided to Cambodia for the South-South Cooperation Project on Employment Promotion Services is captured in project ID #64701.
