Description

In June 2011, at the GMS information and communications technology (ICT) Ministerial Meeting, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of the PRC and the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) of the Lao PDR signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on "Continuing with Demonstration Projects of Applicable Communication Technologies in Rural Areas." The projected total cost was $5 million USD, although it is unknown how much of this value is financed by China.
