Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On September 16, 2008, China provided a food aid grant worth $500,000 to Laos through the World Food Program (WFP). To confront the global rise in food prices, this project was planned to promote the agricultural and socio-economic development in certain developing countries through food aid. China had provided $2.5 million to WFP as emergency aid funds, to be used by Laos, Lesotho, Ethiopia, and Burundi. This grant comes from that larger Chinese donation to the WFP. WFP is the implementer. ("我通过多边渠道向老挝提供50万美元粮食援助")
