Description

On December 19, 2013, China signed a 74 million Yuan ($12 million USD) agreement with Bolivia to provide a donation of 50 trucks and 150 dump trucks. It was signed by Minister Quintana at the same time as a credit line (Project #39437) and an economic aid donation (#36183). On August 22, 2019, the delivery ceremony for the China-Bolivia Mine Dump Truck Cooperation Project took place, in which the Chinese government granted 200 mining dump trucks and spare parts to the Bolivian Ministry of Mining and Metallurgy, to be delivered throughout the country. Each dump truck was worth about 50,000 USD (see 'PRESIDENTE ENTREGA VOLQUETAS A CUATRO SINDICATOS MINEROS'). They are diesel and can carry up to 15 tons. The trucks were subsequently given to the National Federation of Mining Cooperatives of Bolivia in order for them to be disbursed to various mining cooperatives throughout the country. President Morales participated in a delivery ceremony of 10 of the trucks to four mining unions, Huanuni, Colquiri, Corocoro and Vinto, in mid-September 2019. The project is intended to generate economic development overall, as well as help the mining sector improve transport efficiency, production, incomes, and the lives of miners.
