Description

On March 1, 2016, Mongolian Minister of Environment, Green Development and Tourism Namdag Battsereg met with Minister of Environmental Protection of China Chen Jining and decided to launch a 3.9 million CNY (almost US$600 thousand) monitoring and evaluation project on desertification in the bordering Mongolian and Chinese regions, as well as to cooperate in disposition of chemical waste and in combating the “yellow storms." It is unclear how much either country contributed to the overall project.
