Project narrative

On January 17, 2011, China and Fiji held a handover ceremony for the donation of 48 sets of civilian construction machinery and equipment in aid from the Chinese Government to Fiji. Fiji Prime Minister Mwandni Marama and Chinese Ambassador to Fiji Han Zhiqiang signed the transfer certificate on behalf of their respective governments and inspected part of the machinery and equipment jointly. Cai Shui-zeng, the Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese embassy in Fiji, the technical service personnel of the project, officials of relevant government departments of Fiji, and key media from Fiji attended the signing ceremony. The consignment arrived in Suva Harbor on December 31, 2010 and included 48 sets of machinery and equipment in 31 categories. The Chinese technical working groups carried out technical services such as installation and training.
