Project narrative

In 2011, China leased two pandas to the Tokyo Zoo. They arrived in Japan on February 21, 2011. Under a bilateral agreement, the pandas will be leased to the metropolitan government for 10 years at a charge of $950,000 USD (around ¥79 million JPY) a year, with the money going toward wild animal preservation.
