Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In January 2016, the Chinese Embassy in Republic of Congo donated USD 70,000 to the Odzala-Kokoua National Park. The funds were disbursed and will be used for the repair and maintenance of 42 kilometers of road in the park. The roads are used by Odzala eco-guard units to implement anti-poaching initiatives in the park, and also provide access to the park for tourists. A paper from the Central China Normal University lists the park as Odzala-Nkokouain and reports two donations of USD 100,000 and USD 70,000. The agreement to donate USD 100,000 for the park was signed in 2014 (described in #41526).
