Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In September 2016, representatives of the Chinese government and the UN World Food Program (WFP) signed the agreement by which China provided $8 million aid to Ethiopia to relieve the food crisis in that country. In November 2017, Ethiopia representative in UN World Food Program thanked China for the support. This project is linked to Record ID#52396, a $2 million donation to Somalia for the same purpose.

Staff comments

The Chinese government announced a 8 million USD donation to the World Food Program for Ethiopia in 2017, which likely is referring to this flow.
