Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On November 20, 2016, China granted 300,000 USD to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in support of the Agency's core programs and services for Palestine refugees. This included areas of education, health, emergency relief, social services, and camp improvement. This donation was presented in a ceremony in Ramallah, Palestine. The ceremony was attended by representative of the People's Republic of China to the Palestinian National Authority, Chen Xingzhong, and Ambassador to the UNRWA Commissioner-General, Pierre Krhenbhl. This project is complete. China makes an annual contribution to the agency's program budget. Their 2016 contribution was a 50% increase from previous years.
