Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In 2016, China’s Ministry of Commerce provided an RMB 130 million grant to the Government of Equatorial Guinea for the Vocational and Technical School Construction Project. This project involves the construction of a vocational and technical school — that occupies a construction area of 7169.49 square meters and can accommodate 240 students and 20 faculty members — in the city of Oyala (Djibloho). Upon completion, the school was expected train a large number of professionals for Equatorial Guinea, promote local employment and economic development, and bring benefits to the local people. China Railway No. 5 Group was the contractor responsible for implementation. The construction period was originally expected to last 18 months (with completion in September 2018). On December 15, 2016, the Equatorial Guinean President participated in the groundbreaking ceremony. The project was inspected in October 2017 by Ambassador Chen Guoyou ”” and ""陈国友大使考察吉布劳新城和援赤几欧亚拉职校项目"") and in June 2018 by China’s Ambassador to Equatorial Guinea Chen Guoyou.” A formal project handover ceremony took place on November 22, 2018. The Center temporarily serves as the campus of the Customs School for CEMAC countries.
