In 2015, shortly after the terrorist attack at Garissa University College, Donghua University of China students and faculty members raised and donated 50,000 Chinese Yuan (about 720,000 Kenyan shillings est) for students and victims of the incident at the Kenyan university. Donghua University of China partnered with the Confucius Institute at Moi University to raise these funds. The breakdown of funds between the Donghua University and the Confucius Institute is unknown. The project is now complete. For another donation about 6 million Kenyan Shillings (est $64,094 USD) from the Chinese Embassy, see linked Record ID#37474.
