Description

On October 29, 2014, Chinese and Pakistani officials from the two countries signed a RMB 45 million grant agreement for the Green Parliament Project. The purpose of this project is to install a 1 MW solar power system in the parliament house. The solar panel system was installed in February 2016. On February 23, 2016, a lighting ceremony of the Pakistani Parliament Building was held in Islamabad. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif switched on the solar-powered building. The project was officially completed and handed over to National Assembly Secretariat by the contractor on March 16, 2016.
