Description

In 2015, China and the Government of Sri Lanka agreed to fund the establishment of a Modern Pharmaceutical Laboratory Institute worth 5200 Rs.Mn. The institute will be located in Colombo and will be for the research and treatment of chronic kidney disease in Sri Lanka. It is unclear how much of this total cost will be funded by China versus the government of Sri Lanka, although the Chinese portion will be a grant. Although the project is expected to be completed in 2019, no project agreement has been signed as of December 31st, 2017. STAFF:NOTE: Since China's contribution is unknown, the transaction amount was left blank.
