Project narrative

On May 28, 2017, Chinese embassy agreed to provided humanitarian supplies worth 15 million yuan to Sri Lanka after the flood and landslide. The supplies include 600 tents, 20 thousand blankets, 5000 sheets, 20,000 life jackets, and 1,000 pairs of rain boots. According to the Economic and Commercial Counsellor’s Office (ECCO) of the Chinese Embassy source, an airplane with the relief supplies arrived in Sri Lanka on June 3, 2017. China Red Cross Society also provided US$100,000 in emergency humanitarian cash assistance and will send a working group to the local area to assist in disaster relief (captured by Record ID#53710).
