Project narrative

According to the Pakistan Ministry of Finance, China and Pakistan signed a memorandum of understanding to expand the Digital Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcast (DTMB). As of 2018, the first phase of the project, a pilot DTMB installed at Remote Backup Service (RBS) in Murree by Chinese ZTE Corporation for demonstration of the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) terrestrial network, is completed. The project is financed through a grant of an unknown amount from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce. The feasibility project had a reported cost of 0.70 million RMB and is completed, according to the Pakistani Economic Affairs Division Year Book for 2015/2016. It is recorded in Record ID#72696. According to the CPEC website, as of 2018 the total cost of the pilot project was $2 million, and the demonstration project is with funding from the Chinese side. The Pilot Project was inaugurated April 2015. PC-1 of the Demonstration project approved by CDWP on 2nd May 2018.
