In 2016, during the scholarship ceremony, Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka donated 2 million rupees to the Sri Lanka Ministry of Education for the establishment of the “Chinese Ambassador Scholarship” to fund 54 outstanding undergraduates in Sri Lankan universities this year.
