Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In August 2018, the Chinese Embassy made a donation of Rs. 4,889,000 to the Sri Lanka Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs for continuing the annual Chinese Ambassador Scholarship program. The program was first launched in 2016 and aims to reward those academically excellent undergraduate students in Sri Lanka universities. The Embassy is now implementing this program for the third consecutive year. This year, the donation is doubled and could reward 122 students, following the reward of 54 students in 2016 (#53789) and 55 students in 2017 (#53779). The 22 full student scholarships in 2018 are recorded in a separate project (#54842), as this project captures the donation from the Chinese Embassy.
