Project narrative

On December 10, 2014 the Chinese embassy in Tajikistan assisted in the opening of the "Guldasta" sewing center in teh Varzob District, located 25 km north of Tajikistan's capital. Zhao Syanzhun, wife of the Chinese Ambassador participated in the opening ceremony along with the chairman of the Varzob district and a representative from the People's Democratic Party. The embassy donated 20 sewing machines, scissors sets, irons, and other necessary equipment.

Staff comments

The Chinese embassy press release specified that this is the second sewing training center donated to Tajikistan. The project needs to be distinguished from the first center that was transferred in June 2014 (project 54043).
