Description

On January 17, 2019, Reuters reported that the central bank of Sri Lanka said the Bank of China would loan 1 billion USD for loan repayments by the first quarter of 2019. The interest rate of the first 300 million USD loan of the total amount is reported as 5.5%, but both the grace period and maturity are unknown. The loan was originally expected to be finalized by the end of January 2019, with the remaining 700 million USD finalized before the end of March 2019. In February 2019, it was reported that the loan would be delayed. To date, there has been no update on the details of this loan.
