On January 8, it was reported that a Chinese Confucius Centre was established on campus at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad. The Centre offers courses in Chinese language, cooking, and faculty students exchange programmes. As reported on the university's website, the institute was officially launched in 2015, at the presence of the Chinese Foreign Minister H.E Wang Yi, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
