In October 2017, Pakistan's HEC scholarship organization and China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for CRBC to sponsor 30 Pakistani students for a Masters' program in Transportation Engineering at Southeast University in China for two consecutive years. The scholarship is fully funded meaning for all awardees tuition, accommodation, return airfare and living stipend are all covered. The value of each scholarship is unknown. According to Chinese state media outlets, officials from CRBC say that the first batch of 10 students started their study in 2017, and 19 others started in 2018.
