On August 7, 2018, the 2018-2019 School Year Chinese Government Scholarship Admission Ceremony was held at the Chinese Embassy in Sri Lanka. 22 Sri Lankan students were awarded the Chinese Governmental Full Scholarship. Among the 22 scholarship winners, 10 were for Bachelor's degrees, four for Master's degrees, and eight for Doctoral degrees in different fields including medicine, art, environmental science, archaeology and museology, Chinese Language teaching, international economics and trade, etc. The awardees will go to China in September 2018 to continue their higher education in well-known universities such as Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, and Peking University. The program was first launched in 2016 and this is the third iteration of Sri Lankan students to study in China. Linked Record ID#54019 captures the Chinese Embassy's donation to the Sri Lanka Ministry of Higher Education and Cultural Affairs for the continuation of this program.
