Project narrative

In October 2005, China signed a grant of USD$500,000 to St. Lucia for a series of small community projects throughout the country. The purpose of this program is to assist communities particularly with reference to youth activities, activities in sports, a water project, and a community beautification project. Specific projects had already been identified in 2005. The project will primarily be administered by the Poverty Reduction Fund. The project actually started in early 2006 and completed 49 specific projects by the end of 2006. China offered an additional grant to the community projects in November 2006, captured in #54943.
