Description

On 29 Sep 2017, during the China Expo event, Fu Xinrong, the representative from the Chinese Commercial Development Office in the Dominican Republic, revealed that state-owned Chinese companies have plans to invest up to USD 350 million (EUR 292.93 million) in a multifunctional hydraulic dam project along the Yuna River. No agreements have been signed between the two countries and little information is known about this pledge. According to the 2018 CGTN article, Power China is the Chinese company behind this plan. The dam would be utilized in energy creation through hydroelectricity and irrigation.

Additional details

This project is coded as Vague (Official Financing), because the Chinese companies investing in the dam are state-owned (such as Power China), but the flow type is unknown.
