Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On February 16, 2012, Chinese ambassador Sun Haichao and Central African Republic (CAR) Minister of International Cooperation Doroday Amy Marazapa signed a cooperation agreement to build a Agricultural Technology Demonstration Center in the prefecture of Ombella-M'Poko. The agreement stipulated that the Chinese Government would build the demonstration center free of charge. Shanxi International Economic & Technical Cooperation Corporation was the contractor responsible for implementation. The construction contract for the project was signed on December 5, 2012, and a groundbreaking ceremony was held on December 17, 2012. However, the project was later suspended due to violence and political instability in CAR. Then, on June 19, 2015, China’s Ambassador to CAR announced the resumption of project implementation.
