Project narrative

According to Chinese Embassy, Chinese government will donate five thousand tonnes of rice valued at USD 9 million to Chad in 2017. This donation is part of the follow-up actions after the Johannesburg Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation held at the end of 2015. The donation is due to arrive in Chad in four batches, the first of which in 1,000 tonnes of rice has already arrived in December 2016. On January 6 and November 24, 2017, the handover ceremony for China's emergency food aid to Chad was conducted in N'Djamena. The ceremony was attended by Chinese Ambassador Wu Jie and the Chadian Minister of Agriculture, Syrac (2017年我向乍得提供紧急粮食援助项目交接仪式在乍举行).
