Project narrative

On August 7, 2013, Chinese ambassador to Sudan Luo Xiaoguang signed and submitted a letter to Sudan pledging to help Sudan with a solar mobile power project. On August 14, 2013, Sultan ’s Minister of National Economy and Finance Ali Mahmoud Abdullah Soul replies to the Sudanese government for confirmation. Under the framework of "China-Africa Non-governmental Friendship Action", the Chinese Embassy in Sudan cooperated with the Sanad Charitable Foundation of Sudan to fund for this project. The value of the grant is unknown. Solar equipment was built by Poly New Energy Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd. and was officially delivered to Sudan on June 1, 2014. The equipment was intended to be distributed to rural areas which suffer from power shortages. The Chinese Embassy also funded the donation of solar streetlights captured in #55931.
