Project narrative
The Chinese Agricultural Technical Mission successfully Introduced four varieties of cantaloupe to Dominica on the Portsmouth Agricultural Station. Cantaloupes refer to a variety of the Cucumis melo species in the Cucurbitaceae family ranging in weight from 0.5 to 5 kilograms. They are typically melons with a hard scaly or warty rind, usually grown in Europe, Asia, and the United States. Now, these cantaloupe varieties have been successfully cultivated and harvested in Dominica.
