Description

From September 3 to 4, 2018, during Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir's visit to China for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Chinese President Xi Jinping pledged that China would provide Sudan with an RMB 200 million interest-free loan to aid Sudan to overcome economic difficulties and to be used in the projects agreed upon. The precise source of the funding within the Chinese government and the projects it will be used for are uncertain. During FOCAC, President Xi also pledged that a grant of RMB 400 million will be provided to Sudan (captured by Project ID#56281).
