Project narrative

According to the Chinese Embassy of Suriname, on March 17, 2017, China granted 2 police vans to the KPS (Korps Politie Suriname), the Suriname police department. The goal of this donation is to improve law enforcement and ensure security in Suriname. The value of the two vans is unknown. According to Starnnieuws, in April 2017, four instructors from China arrived to train ten members of the KPS in how to operate the 2 police vans. This information was confirmed via the KPS website, which stated that the training was conducted on April 7th, 2017. China has worked with the KPS in the past and donated 30 bulletproof vests to them 3 months prior to this donation (#56253). Additionally, the embassy will send Surinamese police officers to train in China to strengthen local law enforcement (captured in #56507)
