On January 23, 2004, the Chinese government paid for and the embassy donated anti-malaria drugs to the Unit for the Transfer of Medicines (UCM) in the Central African Republic. A media article put the value of the drugs at 140 million CFA, but the amount cannot be confirmed by any official sources.
