Project narrative

On March 22, 2019, the Chinese government donated 10 water tanker trucks to the El Salvador National Administration of Aqueducts and Sewers (ANDA- "Administración Nacional de Acueductos y Alcantarillados" in Spanish). According to a decree published by the Legislative Assembly of El Salvador, the donation cost 6,908,000 RMB. The trucks will help deliver water to water-scarce communities. ANDA also implemented the project, including internal transport of the donation. The handover ceremony was held in San Salvador. President Sanchez, ambassador Ou Jianhong, Foreign Minister Carlos Castaneda, and the President of ANDA Felipe Rivas attended. This project is one of 13 projects in various sectors that was carried out with a 1 billion RMB grant from the Chinese government to El Salvador, committed in 2018. This grant is captured in linked Record ID#55498.
