Project narrative

On August 28, 2007, the Chinese government donated 230 tons of rice and 27 tons of canned fish to the Tintane disaster area. The Tintane area is located in the Province of Hodh El Gharbi and was struck by flooding which, according to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Cresent Societies, left 3,000 families homeless and destroyed the town's water supply. The donation was to be implemented by the Mauritania Food Security and Social Security Administration. A monetary donation was given on the same day (see Record ID#57260).
