Description

On January 31, 2018, the Chinese Government and the Government of Rwanda signed an Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement (ETCA), which committed RMB 200 million ($32 million) for the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College (IPRC) Musanze Campus Expansion Project (captured via Project ID#56917) and the Borehole Drilling Project (captured via Project ID#56953). Approximately $16 million of the grant funding from the ETCA was earmarked for the IPRC Musanze Campus Expansion Project. The purpose of this project was to expand the Musanze Campus of the Integrated Polytechnic Regional College (IPRC), which is located in Barizo village, Muko Sector, Musanze District. It involved the construction of a multi-functional hall, an administration office building, a comprehensive classroom building, students' dormitories, training workshops, an outdoor training shed, auxiliary functional rooms, and a parking lot. Upon completion, IPRC Musanze will have a capacity to enroll more than 4,000 students. China Qiyuan Engineering Cooperation was responsible for construction. Project implementation commenced on June 1, 2019 and ended on August 31, 2021. A formal project handover ceremony took place on November 24, 2021.
