Description
According to a report from the Chinese Embassy in Tunisia, on February 19, 2019, the Chinese Embassy and Tunisian Ministry of Foreign Affairs signed a protocol to continue China’s dispatch of medical teams to Tunisia in the future. Since 1973, China has been sending groups of medical experts to Tunisia for the provision of free aid in medical services. On November 2, 2019, the embassy held a handover ceremony to welcome the 24th medical team from China's Jiangxi Province to Tunisia, and send the 23rd group of medical experts home. The medical teams were sent to the cities of Tunis, Jendouba, and Sidi Bouzid for a one year term that ended on January 4, 2021. The team also worked to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
