Project narrative

On December 11, 2007 and December 18, 2007, the Chinese Government and the Government of Burundi signed a grant agreement and proceeds from the grant were used primarily for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Office Building Renovation Project. The project involved the renovation of a large, multi-functional conference room, a small conference room, a reception room, a control room equipped with information technology at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Burundi. The cost of rehabilitating this room with computer equipment is two million Yuan (about 3.2 thousand US dollars). Hainan Provincial Construction Engineering Company and Huawei Technologies were the contractors responsible for project implemented. On June 8, 2018, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs inaugurated a refurbished and modernized conference room by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Relations and Cooperation. The capacity of this room is approximately 180 people. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs also allowed the rehabilitation of 3 other small rooms to the Burundian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This conference room rehabilitated by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs is equipped with chairs and a server that can power at least 1000 computers.
