Project narrative

On May 20, 2012, engineers from China's peacekeeping missions to Sudan began renovation of the China-Sudan Friendship Primary School in Nyala, South Darfur (尼亚拉中苏友谊小学基础设施续建). Their main tasks were to repair the school classrooms, level hardened ground, install circuits, and build a basketball court to create a more comfortable working and learning environment for the teachers and students. The China-Sudan Friendship Primary School is located in Nyala, the capital of Southern Darfur, Sudan. It was donated by the Chinese Embassy in Sudan and Chinese peacekeeping forces in Darfur. It was completed and delivered in July 2009 (captured in #2187). The primary school has a total construction area of 1,952 square meters and can accommodate more than 800 students. In September 2013, the Chinese Embassy donated school supplies to the Nyala Primary school (captured in #57283).
