Project narrative

In 2015, China committed to the installation of new meteorological observation stations in Comoros. Its commitment was part of a larger international campaign by China to install meteorological posts around the Indian Ocean. A report from the Bank of Comoros states that a total of 20 meteorological stations were installed in Comoros and at least one of these was placed at the airport in Anjoun (Rapport Annuel 2015). The Guanming Daily News reported that that project was completed in all countries concerned by September 2018 (中国向非洲7国援助气象设施 大幅提升防灾减灾能力). There is no available information detailing the price of the project, the implementing agency, or the financial structure of the deal.
