Project narrative

In July 2017, according to the Malawi Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, China Exim Bank loaned $20 million USD to Malawi for the construction of the Mzuzu airport in Lusangazi. The project construction was intended to start in January 2018. According for the Center for Aviation, the airport will be developed on a 90 acre site with two 2000m runways. The project is expected to be completed on December 31, 2020. Loan details and actual start date are unknown.
