Project narrative

On June 12, 2017, Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique, Sun Jian, announced that China would provide over 100 scholarships for students in Mozambique to study in China. Courses selected by existing scholarship personnel include petroleum engineering, mining and water conservancy, tourism management, construction, economics and finance, business management and administration, finance, international trade, medicine and Chinese. China will also donate 58,000 U.S. dollars to Mozambique's education, said the ambassador at the donation ceremony in the Chinese embassy. In 2017 there were an estimated 500 Mozambicans studying in China and more than 100 returned to Mozambique after graduating with bachelor's or master's degrees in China 2016.
